Description
| - Centre for cardiovascular research-Study of molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the origin and progression of ischemic heart disease (IHD), with particular attention to its most important risk factors, e.g. atherosclerosis and hypertension.Research will concetrate upon following closely related areas: (i) mechanisms of cardiac tolerance to oxygen deprivation and the role of risk factors; (ii) stabilization of the vulnerable plaque and genetic determinants of atherogenesis; (iii) molecularmechanisms of the reactivity of peripheral vessels in hypertension; (iv) late effects of early disturbances of the cardiovascular system. Ontogenetic and gender aspects will belong to the main research strategy of the proposed centre. Clinical researchis expected to be its integral part. Understanding of pathogenetic mechanisms of IHD should lead to the development of novel preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. This project is in agreement with the priorities of EU for the next ten years. (en)
- Centrum výzkumu chorob srdce a cév. Studium molekulárních a buněčných mechanizmů, které se podílejí na vzniku a rozvoji ischemické choroby srdeční (ICHS) se zvláštním zřetelem k jejím nejzávažnějším rizikovým faktorům, tj. ateroskleróze a hypertenzi.Výzkum se bude týkat těchto vzájemně souvisejících oblastí: (i) mechanizmů odolnosti srdce k nedostatku kyslíku a úlohy rizikových faktorů; (ii) možnosti stabilizace vulnerabilního plátu a genetických příčin aterogeneze; (iii) molekulárních mechanizmůreaktivity periferních cév při hypertenzi; (iv) pozdních důsledků časného poškození kardiovaskulárního systému. K hlavním strategickým přístupům budou patřit vývojové aspekty a sexuální odlišnosti.
