| - We are planning to develop synthetic routes to a series of still unknown, highly substituted derivatives of the 11-vertex nido tricarbaboranes (tricarbollides) of general formulations 7,8-R1 2-9-L-10-R2-7,8,9-C3B8H7 (where L = amines, R1 = H, Me, Ph, andMe3Si, R2 = H, Me, and Bz), [7,8-R1 2-9-R3-10-R2-7,8,9-C3B8H7]'' (where R3 = H, tBuNH and NH2). Metal complexation of these compounds should generate isomeric 12-vertex closo sandwiches [l-(n5-R5C5)-1-M-R1 2 R2R3-C3B8H9] (where R = H or Me and M = Fe or Ru) of variable cluster positions of cage carbon atoms. The complexation reactions are supposed to be directed by the size of the R1, R2, and R3 substituents on carbon and boron vertices and the formation of various cluster isomers is therefore awaited. In the case of NH2 derivatives experiments will be carried out to convert this group into another functionality (H, OH, NC, and X (X = halogen) and into rod shaped molecular assemblies. - Plánujeme vyvinout cesty syntézy vedoucí k polysubstituovaným derivátům 11-vrcholové nido trikarbaboranové (trikarbollidové) série obecného vzorce 7,8-R1 2-9-L-10-R2-7,8,9-C3B8H7 (kde L = amines, R1 - H, Me, Ph a Me3Si, R2 = H, Me, Bz), [7,8-R1 2-9-R3-10-R2-7,8,9-C3B8H7]%22 (kde R3 - H, tBuNH a NH2). Komplexace těchto látek kovy by měla vést ke vzniku isomerních 12-vrcholových closo sendvičů [1-(n,5-R5C5)-l-M-R1 2 R2R3-C3B8H9] (kde R = H nebo Me a M = Fe nebo Ru) lišících se polohami uhlíků v klastru. Předpokládá se že tyto komplexační reakce budou řízeny velikostí substituentů R1, R2 a R3 na uhlíkových a borových vrcholech a proto lze očekávat tvorbu několika klastrových isomerů. U NH2 derivátů budou provedeny pokusy o přeměnu této skupiny na R3 = H, OH, NC a X (X = halogen) a na syntézu molekulárních tyčovitých útvarů. Budou též učiněny pokusy o reakce spojené s expansí nebo kontrakcí klastru s úmyslem isolovat dosud chybějící closo sloučeniny isomerních sérií [1-(n5-R5C5)-l-M-R1
