Description
- The direction of the research plan is focused on ecological processes in the evolution of organisms. Its ambition is to utilize the existing knowledge and technological equipment of the biological section of the Faculty in order toobtain answers to essential questions of evolutionary ecology, in particular explanations of the mechanisms underlying changes in population densities (on both ecological and evolutionary scales). The primary aim is to connect increasing knowledgeof the molecular and physiological mechanisms of ecological interactions with knowledge on higher levels (regional structures, biogeographic processes) in order to understand the speed and manner of evolution in the studied groups. (en)
- Vědecké týmy biologů různého odborného zaměření, shromážděné ve výzkumném záměru přispěly mimořádným způsobem k posunu hraničních znalostí v propojených oblastech ekologie, evoluční genetiky, biogeografie, fylogenetické taxonomie, vývojové biologie a parazitologie a svými dosaženými výsledky učinily pracoviště vysoce mezinárodně uznávaným.
