Description
V krajinné perspektivě bude posouzen aktuální stav a vývoj stanovišť ryb a zvěře. Systematicky budou sledovány mikrobiální a další patogeny obratlovců s důrazem na akcelerující výskyt některých agens s následnými epidemiemi. Modelové simulace přírodních jevů povedou k aplikaci poznatků ve strategii druhové ochrany, setrvalého využívání přírodních zdrojů a tlumení škůdců. Budou navrhována opatření k potlačení nakažlivých onemocnění přenosných na člověka a hospodářská zvířata.
- Biological diversity of vertebrates will be studied at the molecular, the organismal, and community level. Molecular and genetic markers will be applied in the biodiversity and evolutionary studies. In the ecological research, population dynamics and trends in the community structure in natural and disturbed environments will be studied in relation to physiological and behavioural mechanisms of life histories and ecological adaptations. The status of fish and wildlife habitats will be assessed in a landscape perspective. Microbial and other pathogens of free-living vertebrates will be studied with emphasis to the accelerated occurrence of certain agens causing epidemies. Simulation modelling of natural process will be implied to the strategy of species conservation, sustainable management of natural resources, and pest control. Measures to diminish the extent of infectious diseases transmissable to humans and domestic animals will be proposed. (en)

| - The results of the institutional research plan have contributed to better knowledge about the biology of vertebrates with respect to genetic, species, and diversity, population dynamics, interactions with environments in ecosystems, and host-parasite associations. The results are relevant mainly to fundamental research, however, some of them can be applied in biomedicine and nature conservation. (en)
(cs)
