Description
| - Occupational and environmental mutagens and carcinogens constitute a significant source of health risk. This project is focused on the study of specific biomarkers of the DNA damage by xenobiotics and on the development of analytical methods to detect and quantitate specific DNA adducts in urine. Adenine and guanine DNA adducts derived from styrene and benzene, which have been synthesised in our laboratory, will be used as authentic standards to develop sensitive and specific analytical methods for their determination in urine. Formation of the DNA adducts derived from 3-nitrobenzanthrone, an extremely potent environmental mtagen, will be studied in model experiments and their potential use in biological monitoring will be evaluated. - Získat nové poznatky v oblasti tvorby DNA aduktů odvozených od mutagenních a karcinogenních látek a jejich vylučování v moči, navrhnout vhodné nové biomarkery pro benzen a styren a vypracovat metodu jejich stanovení v moči.

| - Tento projekt byl řešen průměrným způsobem s několika publikačními výstupy které vykazují možnosti aplikací do praxe. Celkově bylo publikováno 6 publikací a nebyl uplatněn žádný aplikovaný výsledek. S vědomím zaměření programu, kterým měl být orientovaný badatelský výzkum nebo přímo aplikovaný výzkum s jasnými aplikačními výstupy lze tento projekt hodnotit pouze jako průměrný. (cs)
- The project has been executed at an average quality with some theoretical achievements that show the potential for applications. In total, 6 research papers have been published and no applied result was described. Realized the goal of this program which focused mainly on applications while leaving enough space for oriented basic research, this project was not outstanding, rather of average quality (en)
