  • New strains of non-vannellid flattened amoebae isolated from fish, an invertebrate and marine environment were studied together with Flabellula citata Schaeffer, 1926 selected by morphology as a reference strain. The study revealed a paucity of features discriminating individual strains at the generic level, but mutual phylogenetic relationships within the assemblage of strains as well as their affiliation to Leptomyxida were clearly evidenced. The SSU rDNA dataset of leptomyxids was expanded and new branching pattern was identified within this lineage of Amoebozoa. Sequences of three newly introduced strains clustered in close relationship with the type strain of F. citata, the type species of the genus. Three strains including one resmbling Flamella sp. were positioned within the sister-group containing Paraflabellula spp. Results of phylogenetic analysis confirmed doubts of previous authors regarding generic identification of ATCC strains of Rhizamoeba spp.

  • Nové kmeny plochých améb izolované z ryb, bezobratlých živočichů a mořského prostředí byly studovány společně s referenčním kmenem Flabellula citata Schaeffer, 1926. Výsledky upozornily na nedostatek znaků rozlišujících jednotlivé kmeny na úrovni rodů. Studie jasně odhalila vzájemné fylogenetické vztahy kmenů studovaného souboru i jejich začlenění do řádu Leptomyxida, rozšířila dataset SSU rDNA sekvencí reprezentantů řádu Leptomyxida a představila nový model větvení ve skupině Amoebozoa. Sekvence tří nově zahrnutých kmenů se seskupily v těsné blízkosti typového kmene F. citata. Tři kmeny, včetně jednoho podobajícího se Flamella sp., se umístily v sesterské skupině zahrnující Paraflabellula spp. Výsledky fylogenetické studie potvrdily pochybnosti předchozích autorů ohledně rodového zařazení některých kmenů Rhizamoeba a Ripidomyxa.
