Description
- The object of this research plan is an investigation of a failure processes for heterogeneous materials and selected components of mechanical and biomechanical systems. The phenomena will be evaluated in complex using analytical, numericaland experimental methods from macroscopic to microscopic (molecular, nanocrystalic, cell) scales in a way allowing their interconnection in computational models. On macroscopic scales failure causes– extreme loading, long-term vibration effects, impact effects – will be searched for aiming to minimalize failure hazards. (en)

| - The project was focused on properties and failure processes of composites and biological structures, and on the dynamic failure of mechanical systems. Models of processes in the human body were developed, e.g., the simulations of blood flow in arteries with implants. New methods of vibration study in mechanical systems facilitate a prognosis of their behaviour in complex exploitation conditions. (en)
(cs)
