| - Cílem chemicko-inženýrského výzkumu je identifikace charakteristik soustav na molekulární úrovni a jejich integrace s fenomenologickými poznatky o chování systémů v závislosti na procesních podmínkách. Hlavní směry výzkumu jsou: studium rovnovážného chování vícefázových soustav s chemickými reakcemi; termo- a hydrodynamika vícefázových systémů za extrémních podmínek; teoretické základy extrakčních, sorpčních a membránových separačních procesů; objasnění aspektů dynamiky vícefázových toků v procesech přestupu hmoty a tepla v chemických, elektrochemických, spalovacích a biotechnologických reaktorech; výklad mechanismů katalyzovaných reakcí, reakcí indukovaných mikrovlnným a laserovým zářením a destrukčních reakcí toxických organických látek. Výsledky umožní kvantitativně popsat chování reagujících vícefázových soustav pomocí matematických modelů, použitelných pro optimální návrh procesních zařízení, vyhovujících požadavkům na maximální šetrnost k životnímu prostředí.
- Objective of the chemical-engineering research is to identify the molecular-level characteristics of the investigated systems and to integrate them with the phenomenological knowledge of the system behavior as a function of process conditions. Research areas involve equilibrium behavior of multiphase systems with chemical reactions; determination of thermo- and hydrodynamic characteristics of multiphase systems at extreme conditions; fundamentals of extraction, sorption, and membrane separations; dynamics of multiphase flow with respect to the mass and heat transfer processes occurring in chemical, electrochemical, and combustion reactors and bioreactors; mechanisms of catalytic reactions, microwave radiation and laser-induced reactions, and reactions of toxic organics destruction. Results obtained shall enable description of the behavior of multiphase reacting systems by mathematical models, applicable to optimum process design conforming to the requirements of environmental concern.
