The resistance to fire blight of at least 15 landraces of apple and pear will be studied. Testing will be carried out on three years old trees planted in VÚRV v.v.i. in Slaný and on in vitro cultures. The experimental biotechnological methods should verify the possibility of use of in vitro cultures for improving of fire blight resistance testing. Vegetative characters, fruit characters and resistance to economically important diseases will be also evaluated in the case of tested cultivars. Cultivars resistant to fire blight (including pomological characteristics) will be recommended for breeding programs. We also expect use of resistant cultivars in the countryside. (en)
Vypracovat metodiku hodnocení stupně rezistence proti spále růžovitých využitím biotechnologických metod. Otestovat staré a lokální odrůdy jabloně a hrušně.
