| Description
| - The main disadvantage of dosage forms used in the therapy of mucosal defects of the oral cavity (mouth washes, gels, pastes) is their short period of residence at the application area because of their rapid washout by saliva and thus the necessity of repeated application of these drugs. That is why, in non-cooperative patients, the extension of the period of treatment, complications and more frequent visits to medical facilities can occur. Development of mucoadhesive flexible films would contribute to a significant extension of the active drug therapy that significantly reduce the frequency of repeated applications of drugs, their consumption and economic cost of treatment. The use of oxidized cellulose as the basic component of these films would promote healing and regeneration of the affected mucosa and thus shorten the duration of therapy. (en)
- Hlavní nevýhodou lékových forem používaných ve farmakoterapii slizničních defektů ústní dutiny (ústní vody, gely, pasty) je jejich krátká doba setrvání v místě aplikace z důvodu jejich rychlého vymývaní slinami a tudíž nutnost aplikovat tyto přípravky opakovaně. To se může u nespolupracujících pacientů projevit prodloužením doby terapie, častějšími komplikacemi a návštěvami zdravotnických zařízení. Vývoj mukoadhezivních flexibilních filmů by přispěl k výraznému prodloužení doby aktivní farmakoterapie, značně by omezil četnost opakování aplikace léčivých přípravků, jejich spotřebu a ekonomickou náročnost léčby. Použití oxidované celulosy jako základní stavební složky těchto filmů by navíc podpořilo proces hojení a regeneraci postižené sliznice a tím zkrátilo dobu terapie.
