Description
| - The project presents integration efforts of several top laboratories from the Czech Republic focused on the study of structure and function of plant nuclear genome. A special attention will be paid on the plasticity and evolution of genomic DNA sequencesand on the study of molecular mechanisms controlling growth and differentiation of plant cells and tissues. The research will be realised on several key models, which have a strong impact in genetics, plant breeding, and reproduction (especially Arabidopsis thaliana, white campion, and wheat). The project is based on two strategic pillars: bioinformatics (formation of databases of transcriptome, satelite, and retroelement sequences) and DNA library approach (construction of sophisticated libraries based on laser technologies and robotic screening). (en)
- Projekt představuje integraci našich špičkových akademických pracovišť soustředěných na studium struktury a funkce rostlinného genomu. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována flexibilitě a evoluci genomových sekvencí DNA a studiu molekulárních mechanismů, kteréřídí růst a diferenciaci rostlinných buněk. Výzkum bude realizován na několika modelech, které mají zásadní impakt v rostlinné genetice a šlechtění i reprodukční biologii (zejména Arabidopsis, Silene, Vicia a Triticum). Základní etapou projektu je vytvoření bioinformační databáze transkriptomických dat, satelitních sekvencí DNA a retroelementů. Jednotící technologií je konstrukce a skrínování specifických genomových knihoven.

| - During the period 2006-2011 we have achieved a lot of exciting results in the field of plant genomics, including molecular structure of nuclear and mitochondrial genome, mapping and cloning of important genes. Application of new technologies enabled to characterize functional domains of chromosomes and their evolution during domestification. (en)
- Byly vypracovány nové postupy a připraveny unikátní materiály, které usnadňují analýzu molekulární struktury genomů rostlin, včetně mapování a klonování významných genů. Aplikace nových metod umožnila získání původních poznatků o anatomii genomů, včetně funkčních domén chromosomů a o změnách součástí genomů, které doprovázely evoluci současných druhů rostlin a domestikaci kulturních plodin.
