The possibility of tailoring the form and the way of education to needs of particular learners is often highlighted among other advantages of e-learning. But creation of fully personalized and customized e-courses is difficult and time-consuming. The application of techniques and methods of artificial intelligence can make the whole process more efficient. In the proposed project, we suggest to transfer the constraint satisfaction problem solving techniques into the e-learning domain. These techniques are used for automated creation of multimedia and for generating solutions in problems where suitable combinations of values of given variables are searched. In the scope of the proposed project, the e-courses implemented in virtual learning environments and used at universities will be analyzed. Then those scenarios of manipulations with e-courses will be described, where the constraint programming techniques are applicable. The expected outputs of the projects are mainly the prototype of the application together with the theoretical framework. (en)
