| Description
| - Refined studies on Earth gravity potential are stimulated by new driving impulses. They result from the pronounced interdisciplinary importance of the topic, increasing practical needs and from considerable advances in geodetic, space geodetic and gravimetric measurements. The application of potential theory is natural in this field. It leads to the formulation of various boundary, initial and inverse problems for partial differential equations (mostly Laplace's and Poisson's equation). Boundary-value problems are of essential importance in physical geodesy and in the envisaged project the attention will pay to this topic. In particular the discussion will focus on refinements and generalizations in the formulation of these problems, onthe application of mathematical methods for their solution and on accuracy estimates. - Přesné studium tíhového pole Země je stimulováno novými impulsy. Odrážejí prohlubující se mezioborový význam tématu, četné praktické aplikace a značný pokrok geodetických, družicových geodetických a gravimetrických měření. Teorie potenciálu má přirozenouaplikaci v této oblasti. Vede k formulaci různých okrajových, počátečních a inverzních úloh pro parciální diferenciální rovnice (převážně Laplaceovu a Poissonovu rovnici). Okrajové úlohy mají základní význam ve fyzikální geodézii a předkládaný projekt sebude věnovat tomuto tématu. Speciálně budou diskutovány otázky zpřesnění a zobecnění formulace těchto úloh, aplikace matematických metod pro jejich řešení a odhadů přesnosti. Zaměření projektu odpovídá současným trendům vědecké geodézie. Lze to vidět z obecných akcentů, jaké mezinárodní vědecké organizace, zejména IAG, kladou na řešení fyzikálních a matematických problémů spojených se studiem tíhového pole Země.
