Description	The pseudo-ternary series DyNi1-x Cux Al system was studied by means of microprobe experiments and X-ray powder diffraction. Structure parameters exhibit a sudden discontinuity between x=0.3 and 0.4. This effect is explained on the basis of the possible difference in strengths of intra- and inter-planar bonds.
