Description
  • The non-Newtonian effects of blood flow are investigated in an idealized 3D bypass model, which includes both the proximal and distal parts of the native artery and the connected end-to-side bypass graft. For the modelling of the shear-dependent viscosity, two well-known macroscopic non-Newtonian models are applied (the Carreau-Yasuda model and the modified Cross model). The obtained numerical results are compared with the Newtonian case and analyzed with regard to the development of intimal hyperplasia at the distal anastomosis and with regard to the possible damage of blood cells inside the bypass. All numerical simulations are performed by own computational software developed for unstructured hexahedral grids.

  • Nenewtonské efekty proudící krve jsou zkoumány v idealizovaném 3D modelu bypassu, který se skládá z proximální a distální části nativní artérie a připojeného end-to-side bypassového štěpu. Pro modelování vazkosti závislé na lokálních hodnotách smykové rychlosti jsou aplikovány dva známé makroskopické nenewtonské modely (Carreauův-Yasudův model a modifikovaný Crossův model). Získané numerické výsledky jsou porovnány s případem proudící newtonské kapaliny a analyzovány s ohledem na rozvoj intimální hyperplasie na distální anastomóze a zároveň s ohledem na možné poškození krevních částí uvnitř bypassu. Všechny numerické simulace jsou realizovány vlastním výpočetním softwarem vyvinutým pro nestrukturované hexahedrové sítě. (cs)
