Description
| - We used here the non-acylated proCyaA, unable to form membrane pores, and the specific CyaA mutants exhibiting a selectively reduced hemolytic activity but full capacity to elevate cAMP in cells, to corroborate the observation that enzymatic depletion of cellular ATP due to toxin action is sufficient to promote cell death and lysis. It is further shown, that pore-forming (hemolytic) activity of CyaA synergizes with the invasive AC enzyme activity in maximizing the overall cytolytic potency of the toxin

- Použili jsme neacylovaný proCyaA, který netvoří membránové póry, a specifické CyaA mutanty vykazující selektivně sníženou hemolytickou aktivitu, ale mající plnou schopnost zvyšovat cAMP v buňkách, k podpoření pozorování, že enzymatická deplece buněčného ATP díky akci toxinu je dostačující ke způsobení buněčné smrti a buněčné lyze. Dále jsme ukázali, že hemolytická aktivita CyaA synergizuje s invazivní AC aktivitou a tím maximalizuje celkovou cytolytickou aktivitu toxinu (cs)
