Description
  • Testovali jsme hypotézu, že v dlouhých korytovitých nádržích je prostorová distribuce druhového komplexu Daphnia longispina nenáhodná. V létě 2004 jsme vzorkovali 11 nádrží v podélném (přítok, střed, hráz) a vertikálním (epi-, meta- a hypolimnion) gradientu. Pro rozlišení taxonů Daphnia jsme použili elektroforézu allozymů. Zaznamenali jsme výskyt všech tří často hybridizujících evropských druhů – D. galeata, D. cucullata a D. longispina = hyalina, včetně hybridů s D. galeata. Redundanční analýza potvrdilsignifikantní rozdíly ve výskytu taxonů Daphnia v obou sledovaných gradientech. Drobnější D. cucullata, případně její hybridi, upřednostňovali na živiny a potravu bohaté přítokové oblasti nádrží. D. longispina a její hybridi měli naopak afinitu k hrázovým oblastem, zejména pak meta- nebo hypolimniu. (cs)
  • We tested the hypothesis that the spatial distribution of different species and interspecific hybrids of the Daphnia longispina species complex is non-random in long canyon-shaped reservoirs. During the summer stratification, we sampled crustacean zooplankton from eleven reservoirs, covering both longitudinal (upstream, middle, dam) and vertical (epi-, meta- and hypolimnion) environmental gradients. Allozyme electrophoresis was used to discriminate among different Daphnia taxa. All three frequently hybridizing European species of the complex (galeata, cucullata, longispina = hyalina) and hybrids with D. galeata were commonly recorded. Smaller-bodied D. cucullata and its hybrids, when present, preferred mostly the nutrient- and food-rich upstream regions; D. longispina and its hybrids were more commonly found in the downstream part, and often dominated in the meta- or hypolimnion.
