Description
| - The project is focused on understanding of the all-scale geological processes and fluxes in the upper Earth´s crust. The aim of the project is to obtain new insights on characteristics and mass balance of both long- and short-term processes that control the mass distribution in organic and inorganic environments of the Earth´s crust. The project is divided into two main directions. The first direction will emphasize the investigation of (i) thermodynamic processes in mantle and in lithosphere, (ii) dynamics of mass balance in these endogenic processes and (iii) sedimentation processes and diversity of organisms in a sedimentary record. The second direction of the project will deal with the interactions between lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere with a special emphasis on man-affected environments. The comparison of these two research approches is necessary to decipher the role of dynamics in mass fluxes in pristine environments and environments affected by anthropogenic activity. (en)
