Description
  • The knowledge of velocity distribution in open-channel flows with intense transport of sediment is essential for understanding the complexity of the transport process. The paper deals with the comparison and validation of experimental methods for velocity estimation n two phase flow with granular sediment. The results show very good agreement between the results obtained using Prandtl tube and ultrasonic Doppler methods. Furthermore, the suitability and uncertainty of the ultrasonic Doppler methods to determine the velocity components in the high concentrated layers is discussed.
