  • Umělá náhrada kůže by měla obsahovat dermální i epidermální vrstvu. Kombinací kultivovaných lidských keratinocytů a bezbuněčné prasečí dermis jsme vytvořili umělou kůži, kterou je možno použít pro hojení popálenin a jiných kožních defektů. Rekombinovaná kůže kultivovaná na rozhraní medium/vzduch byla tvořena až dvaceti vrstvami diferencovaných epidermálních buněk. Nediferencovaná forma kůže obsahovala 1-2 vrstvy epidermálních buněk na xenodermis a dala se použít jako dočasný kryt ran (aplikace buňkami do rány). Také samotná bezbuněčná xenodermis, která může být skladována.sterilně v suchém stavu, může být využita pro hojení odběrových ploch, bércových vředů, rozsáhlých odřenin apod. (cs)
  • The tissue engineered skin should be composed of both dermal and epidermal layers. We combined cultured human allogeneic keratinocytes with acellular xenodermis prepared from pig xenografts. The composite skin can be cultured in undifferentiated or differentiated phenotype. The differentiated phenotype (D-RHPS) was grown at the air-liquid interface and formed 5-20 cell layers similar to the normal epidermis, including the granular and horny layers. Undifferentiated RHPS has skin-like consistency and has been successfully used for treatment of burns and skin defects using “upside-down” application. Simple acellular xenodermis without keratinocytes can also be used as temporary cover for donor sites, leg ulcers and other skin defects.
