Description	Four clones (H8, G9, G10 , A3) of human adenocarcinoma cell line HT29 were selected and analysed after treatment with sodium butyrate,a differentiation-inducing agent. Ultrastructural and enzymatic markers of differentiation were screened in individual clones. Sodium butyrate induced differentiation in all of them. Surprisingly, the results showed considerable heterogeneity in the morphology and enzymatic activities of these cells, similar to that observed in parental HT29 cells. This fact suggests that many HT29 cells may possess multipotent information, which exists in the stem cells of normal intestinal crypt. (en) Čtyři klony (H8, G9, G10, A3) získané z buněčné linie HT29 lidského adenokarcinomu byly analyzovány po působení butyrátu sodného, který je schopen navozovat diferenciaci. V jednotlivých klonech byly hodnoceny ultrastrukturní a biochemické ukazatele diferenciace. Bylo zjištěno, že butyrát sodný indukoval diferenciaci ve všech čtyřech klonech. Výsledky však překvapivě ukázaly značnou heterogenitu jak morfologickou, tak i v enzymatických aktivitách u těchto klonovaných buněk, podobnou jakou jsme pozorovali u rodičovských buněk HT29. Toto zjištění naznačuje, že mnoho buněk HT29 může nést mnohočetnou informaci, která je obsažena v kmenových buňkách normálních střevních krypt. (cs)
