Description	Autor dokazuje, že cesta, kterou se byzantské zboží dostávalo do slovanských oblastí na sever od Dunaje, vedla zprvu po Jaderském moři – z Dyrrhachia do Benátek, odkud ji pak kupci dopravovali dále po prastaré obchodní tzv. Jantarové cestě, která se znovu otevřela po dobytí avarského kaganátu vojsky Karla Velikého na konci 8. století. Autor vyslovuje hypotézu, že touto cestou přišla roku 863 na Moravu i cyrilometodějská misie vyslaná z Byzance. (cs) The author shows that Byzantine goods found by archaeologists in Slav countries north of the Danube were transported first on the maritime route along the Adriatic coast from Dyrrhachium to Venice from where it were carried further by merchants on the ancient so called Amber Road opened again due to the conquest of the Avar chaganate by the Frankish army at the end of the 8th century. The author further argues that it was this route that was used by the Cyrillo-Methodian mission dispatched in 863 from Byzantium to Moravia.
