  • Ačkoli negativní vliv opadu na celkový počet semenáčků a na složení společenstva semenáčků nebyl průkazný, opad průkazně ovlivnil dynamiku již vzrostlé vegetace a způsobil inhibici vývoj celkové pokryvnosti listoví. Efekt celkové pokryvnosti listoví vzrostlé vegetace na semenáčky se měnil během vegetační sezóny. Zatímco tento efekt byl pozitivní na začátku a uprostřed vegetační sezóny, na konci sezóny měla pokryvnost listový negativní vliv. Jak pokryvnost listoví tak pokryvnost basálních internodií ovlivnila složení společenstva semenáčků. Efekty těchto dvou proměnných bylo možno statisticky oddělit což naznačuje, že jsou založeny na rozdílných mechanizmech. Odpověď semenáčků na tyto faktory byly druhově specifické. Naše data podporují hypotézu předpokládající, že bioticky generovaná prostorová heterogenita může podporovat koexistenci druhů díky diferenciaci jejich regeneračních nik. (cs)

The effects of total leaf cover of established plants on seedling establishment changed during the vegetation season. Whereas the effect of total leaf cover was positive at the start and in the middle of the vegetation season, at the end the total leaf cover negatively affected seedling establishment.
