  • V posledních letech jsou trojrozměrné elektrody inteenzivně studovány. V tomto uspořádání je katoda representována ložem pomalu se pohybujících kovových částic. Výhodou tohoto uspořádání je kontinuální regenerace mezifázové plochy mezi rostoucími částicemi a elektrolytem. K dosažení vhodného rozdělení velikostí částic a rovněž eleiminaci poruchy a je dležité udržovat rovnoměrný pohyb částic po průřezu katodového prostoru. Zaměřili jsme se na návrh zařísení, které splňuje podmínky rovnoměrného toku částic v širokém rozmezí operačních podmínek. V úvodním stadiu výzkumu the simulační software FLUENT byl využit pro studium hydrodynamiky dvoufázového toku v pravoúhlém vertikálním kanále. Vypočtené rychlostní profily částic byly porovnány s experimentálními měřeními. (cs)
  • In recent years, three-dimensional electrodes have been widely studied. In this design the cathode is formed by a slow-moving packed bed of metal particles. The advantage of this set-up is the continuous recovery of interfacial area between growing particles and the electrolyte. To achieve the proper particle size distribution and also to prevent apparatus breakdown due to bed plugging, it is essential to retain the mass-flow of particles. We focus on the design of three dimensional electrodes in which the mass flow will occur under a wide range of conditions. In the preliminary phase of our research, we use CFD package Fluent to study the hydrodynamic behaviour of a multiphase flow in a rectangular channel. For validation of numerical models, experiments for determination of real particle velocity profiles are carried out.
