  • Antioxidativní vlastnosti několika skupin amfifilních mono- and di-N-oxidů s různě dlouhými acylovými řetězci byly měřeny u SOD-defektních mutantů S. cerevisiae a chemiluminiscenčním testem za použití luminolu. Všechny N-oxidy chránily mutanty před radikály. Di-N-oxidy byly aktivnější. Jak mono-, tak di-N-oxidy chránily membránové lipidy izolované z kmenů před peroxidací – účinnost závisela na délce alkylového řetězce. Účinnost vychytávání radikálů při chemiluminiscenčním testu se zvyšovala se vzrůstající délkou řetězce (cs)
  • The antioxidative action of several groups of amphiphilic mono- and di-N-oxides with different acyl chains against peroxyl and superoxide radicals was determined in SOD-deficient mutants of S. cerevisiae and in a chemiluminescence assay using luminol. All N-oxides protected the mutants against the radicals. Di-N-oxides were more active. Both mono- and di-N-oxides protected membrane lipids from all strains against peroxidation in dependence on the alkyl chain length. In the chemiluminescence assay, the radical-scavenging efficiency the N-oxides increased with increasing chain length.
