Description
  • Studovali jsme sinice rodu Nostoc z hlediska výskytu biologicky aktivních látek. Z 50ti testovaných kmenů vykazovalo 7 kmenů aktivitu na přítomnost inhibitorů proteáz (trypsin, elastáza). Tři kmeny produkovaly látky s výrazným inhibičním účinkem vůči enzymu acetycholinesterasa a pět kmenů bylo pozitivních na tkáňové kultury buněčných linií. Chemická povaha obsahových látek byla sledována pomocí HPLC-MSn. Většina aktivních látek patřila mezi širokou skupinu sinicových cyklických a lineárních peptidů. (cs)
  • Although the terrestrial Actinomycetales group continues to be an abundant source of bioactive compounds, it is clear that the yield of novel metabolites with practical use is still decreasing and, therefore, new sources must be considered. We have focused our search for bioactive compounds on the genus Nostoc. This effort has resulted in a collection of over 50 strains coming from all around the world. Biosynthetic enzymes present in these cyanobacteria, such as polyketide synthases and particularly non-ribosomal pepide synthetases, are involved in the biosynthesis of various bioactive secondary metabolites. Non-ribosomal cyclic peptides are by far the dominant group of biologically active natural products that are produced by members of this genus. The axenic culture have been cultured and both biomass and growth media were analysed for the presence of cyclic peptides exhibiting serine protease (trypsine and elastase) inhibitory activity in our screening programme. In addition to ...
