Description
| - In usual scatering experiments, projectiles (electrons, atoms, ions, etc.) scattered from targets (molecules, surfaces, etc.) are closely approximated by plane waves. We pro- pose to modify this traditional scheme by preparing projectiles in a quantum state where ev- ery projectile is emitted with a varied probability in time P(t), such that P(t) exp(-gamma t). The potential scattering with the new incident wave packet demonstrates significant dif- ferences from the usual plane wave experiment: Usual resonance peaks characterized by widths gamma r are significantly narrowed for gamma < gamma r and transformed to discrete lines for gamma - gamma r.

- Projektil (elektron, atom, ion, atd.), který se rozptyluje od terčů (molekul, ploch, atd.), je v obvyklých experimentech dobře aproximován pomocí rovinné vlny. Navrhujeme modifikaci tohoto tradičního schéma přípravou projektilu v kvantovém stavu, kde je projektil emitován s časově variabilní pravděpodobností P(t), kde P(t) exp(-gamma t).
