Description
| - The chemical characteristics of the polar parts of phospholipids were investigated by using infrared (IR) spectroscopy and theoretical calculations with water as a probe molecule. The main process appearing upon progressive hydration is unfolding of methylphosphocholine (MePC) molecules that are closely packed in isolated state. The stepwise disruption of the intramolecular hydrogen bonds stabilizing the original packed structure of MePC is connected in substantial changes in vibrational properties of MePC. The mechanism of hydration-driven conformational changes occurring in MePC could be transferred to other zwitterions with relevant internal C-H...O hydrogen bonds.

- Charakteristiky polárních částí fosfolipidů a jejich interakce s vodou byly studovány pomocí infračervené spektroskopie a teoretických výpočtů. Hlavní proces, k němuž dochází při postupné hydrataci, je konformační změna molekuly metylfosfocholinu z těsně sbalené, která je v isolovaném stavu, na rozbalenou díky porušení intramolekulových vodíkových vazeb. Tato konformační změna je doprovázena dobře pozorovatelnými změnami ve vibračních charakteristikách. Naznačený mechanismus konformačních změn indukovaných hydratací je pravděpodobně obecně platný pro všechny zwitterionty s relevatními intramolekulovými vodíkovými vazbami. (cs)
