Description
  • Ketoximes and their metal chelate complexes are both active as catalysts in hydrolysis of esters. Electroreduction of five azinylmethylketoximes I-V and their Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes was investigated polarographically and correlated with acidity of hydroxyimino group, nucleophilicity of dissociated oximate anion and with hydrolytic activity towards model substrate (p-nitrophenylacetate). Three different types of reduction of chelates were observed and their influence on the catalytic activity discussed.
