  • The complexes [(DMA)Cu(PPh 3 ) 2 ](BF 4 )(1), [(DMA)Ru(bpy) 2 ](PF 6 ) 2 (2) and (DMA)WOCl 3 (3) with 1,3-dimethylalloxazine (DMA) were obtained as O 4 -N 5 cheladet species, as evident from an X-ray crystal structure analysis for 3and from spectroscopy (NMR, IR and UV/vis spectroelectrochemistry).DFT and ab initio methodology is used to illustrate the correspondence in spin distribution between the anion radical p systems of alloxazine and isoalloxazine.
