Description
  • Characterisation of 9 strains selected from primary isolates referable to Paramoeba/Neoparamoeba spp. is reported. Based on ultrastructural study, 5 strains isolated from fish (AGD affected Atlantic salmon and dead Southern bluefin tuna), one from net material of sea-cage 3 strains from invertebrates (sea urchins and crab) were assigned to the genus Neoparamoeba Page, 1987. Phylogenetic analyses based on SSU rDNA sequences revealed that 3 strains from the invertebrates and two out of three strains from gills of Southern bluefin tunas became members of the N. branchiphila clade, while fish-isolated strains and environmental strains, clustered within the clade of N. pemaquidensis. These and previously reported results point to the possibility that N. pemaquidensis and N. branchiphila can affect both, fish and invertebrates. A new potential fish host, Southern bluefin tuna, was included in the list of farmed fish endangered by the latter amoeba species.

  • Z primárních izolátů mořských améb zařazených do rodů Paramoeba/Neoparamoeba bylo charakterizováno 9 kmenů. Pět kmenů izolovaných z ryb (z lososů s amébovým onemocněním žaber a z uhynulých tuňáků), 1 kmen ze sítí plovoucích klecí a 3 z bezobratlých (mořských ježků a kraba) byly zařazeny do rodu Neoparamoeba. (cs)
