| - The length of the pre-oviposition period in spontaneously fasting macropterous females of P. apterus is shortened and ovarian arrest terminated by application of juvenile hormone analogue, which indicates that temporary ovarian arrest of these females results from a deficiency of juvenile hormone. The length of pre-oviposition period can be shortened and ovarian arrest can be terminated also by de-alation, higher temperature and prolonged period of starvation, but not by mating with reproductively active males. Depletion of the fat body reserves by prolonged fasting, followed by resumption of food intake are pre-requisites for full activation of the corpus allatum and egg development, and plays a role in completion and termination of non-diapause type of ovarian arrest in long-day macropterous females of this bug.

- Délka pre-ovipoziční periody u spontánně hladovějících makropterních samic ploštice P. apterus je zkrácena a inhibice růstu ovarií odstraněna aplikací analogu juvenilního hormonu, což ukazuje, že přechodná inhibice růstu ovarií u těchto samic je způsobena nedostatkem juvenilního hormonu. Délka pre-ovipoziční periody může být zkrácena a inhibice růstu ovarií odstraněna také odstřižením křídel, vyšší teplotou, prodlouženou dobou hladovění, avšak nikoliv pářením s reprodukčně aktivními samci. Vyčerpání rezerv z tukového tělesa delším hladověním, následované obnovením příjmu potravy, jsou nezbytnou podmínkou pro plnou aktivaci endokrinních žláz corpora allata a tvorbu vajíček a významně se podílejí na ukončení nediapauzního typu inhibice růstu ovarií u dlouhodenních makropterních samic této ploštice.
