  • The effects of including an equi-mixture of sesamin and episesamin in fish diets based on vegetable oils of different fatty acid composition were examined. Sesamin/episesamin (hereafter named sesamin) was included at 0.58 g/100 g diet. The oil used in the feed was either a mixture of linseed and sunflower oils (6:4, by vol) or 100% linseed oil. Addition of sesamin increased the percentages of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in white muscle phospholipid and triacylglycerol fraction by up to 37% but the fatty acids in red muscle and liver were not affected. The expression of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor PPARa was significantly down regulated in the liver of the fish fed sesamin and mixed oil diet (P0.05). Sesamin and episesamin were detected in liver and muscle tissues of the fish that had been fed sesamin.   • V práci byl sledován efekt přídavku směsi sezaminu a episezaminu do rybích krmiv obsahujících rostlinné oleje s různým složením mastných kyselin. Sezamin/episezamin (dále jen sezamin) byl přidán v koncentraci 0.58 g/100 g krmiva. Oleje použité v krmivu byly směsí lněného a slunečnicového oleje (6:4, obj.) nebo 100% lněný olej. Přídavek sezaminu způsobil 37% zvýšení obsahu dokosahexaenové kyseliny (DHA) ve fosfolipidové a triacylglycerolové frakci bílé svaloviny, přičemž mastné kyseliny v červené svalovině a játrech nebyly ovlivněny. Exprese PPAR byla významně snížena (P0.05) v játrech ryb krmených krmivem obsahujícím sezamin a směsí olejů. Sezamin a episezamin byl detekován v játrech a svalovině ryb kterým byl sezamin podáván. V játrech ryb krmených sezaminem byly zjištěny zvýšené hodnoty obsahu cytochromu P450 (CYP) a zvýšená aktivita enzymu EROD, nasvědčující indukci CYP1A v této tkáni. Ve shrnutí můžeme říct, že přídavek sezaminu v krmivu zvýšil poměr DHA v bílé svalovině ryb. (cs)
