  • U nymf 1.-5. instaru a dospělců různého věku Aphelocheirus aestivalis (Fabr.) byly studovány histologie, ultrastruktura a morfologické uspořádání samčího a samičího reproduktivního systému. Testikulární folikuly a ovarioly se začínají diferencovat ve 2. instaru a jejich diferenciace je ukončena ve 3. instaru. Párová akcesorická mesadenia (dichotomicky větvená u dospělých samců) se diferencují také ve 2. instaru. Základy samčích ektodermálních akcesorických žláz se formují během 3. instaru, spermatéka a bursa copulatrix začínají invaginovat ve 4. instaru. Obdobně je popsána diferenciace zárodečných buněk a formování germariálních trofických provazců. Časování zásadních reproduktivních procesů (permanentní spermatogeneze a oogeneze, která se zastavuje se pouze v zimě) je odlišné od většiny ostatních skupin vodních ploštic a jeví zjevné tendence k semivoltinizmu. Byly definovány tři nové apomorfie v rámci čeledi Aphelocheiridae (typ spermatogeneze, sekundární seminální váček u samců a výskyt kartáčovité (cs)
  • Histology, ultrastructure and morphological arrangement of male and female reproductive system of Aphelocheirus aestivalis (Fabr.) have been studied in nymphs of instar 1 - 5 and variously aged apterous adults. Testicular follicles and ovarioles start to differentiate in instar 2 and their entire differentiation is finished in instar 3. Paired accessory mesadenia dichotomically branched in adult males differentiate in instar 2 as well. The anlage of male ectodermal accessory gland is formed during instar 3, spermatheca and bursa copulatrix start to invaginate in instar 4. Similarly, differentiation of germ cells as well as formation of the germarial trophic core are described. The timing of crucial reproductive processes (permanent spermatogenesis and oogenesis ceased only in winter) seems to be rather different from those most of aquatic bugs showing a clear tendency to semivoltinism.
