  • Tento článek se zabývá úpravou open source knihovny pro kompresi JPEG 2000, aby mohla využívat PCI kartu osazenou signálovým procesorem jako akcelerátor výpočtů. Jsou diskutovány základní principy komprese JPEG 2000, rozdíly mezi klasickým JPEG a JPEG 2000 a výhody a nevýhody použití hardvérového akcelerátoru. Článek popisuje problémy, které musely být řešeny jako komunikace pře sběrnici PCI a optimalizace kódu. jako HW akcelerátor byla použita PCI karta osazena signálovým procesorem TMS320C6415 (hodinová frekvence 600MHz).   • This paper deals with the adaptation of an open source JPEG 2000 compression library for using PCI card with a digital signal processor as an accelerator. The main principles of compression JPEG 2000, differences between standard JPEG and JPEG 2000 and advan-tages and disadvantages of using hardware accelerators are discussed. Paper describes problems which had to be solved like PCI communication and optimization. PCI card based on a digital signal processor TMS320C6415 (the clock frequency 600MHz) was used as an accelerator.
