  • Wide hybridisation has become a technique suitable for introgression ofalien genes into modem wheat cultivars. Ten Tri/icum bvev/icum Boiss. al:cessions resistant to powdery mildew were studied in more detail. Variability between the accessions was studied using resistance tests, RAPD and storage protein ana!ysis. Potential gene recipients (7: aestivum and 7: durum cultivars) were also included. Unlike protein analysis we were able to clearly distinguish among the individua! accessions of 7: boeoticum using RAPD. Computed dendrograms reflect phylogenetic relationships among the characterised species. AU tests proveď, that Triticum boeoticum is a valu~ble gene-pool. Three 7: boeoticum x 7: durum amphidiploid progenies were also analysed. They differ inthe degree of resistance to powdery mildew. Both RAPD and storage protein analyses indicated that genome rearrange- ments occurred. We showed, that RAPD could be used to trace such events.
