| - This research project, solved in accordance with the research plan in the period 2001-2003 had six thematic stages that were focused on the following topics: Stage 01 was concentrated on study and utilization of genetic diversity of field and selected horticultural crops, herbs and crops for alternative uses with the aim to verify and apply effective methods of characterization and evaluation of genetic resources and to choose suitable initial materials for breeding and growing. Stage 02 dealt with thedevelopment and use of effective metohods of conservation of plant genetic resources, seeds and plant tissues. Important results in the field of the use of molecular techniques for characterization and creating of new genotypes with specific characters were reached within stage 03. Chromosome, cell and molecular techniques were exploited for determination of effects of genes that determine economically important traits. - Řešení výzkumného záměru probíhalo v období 2001-2003 v šesti věcných etapách v souladu s metodikou. Nové cenné poznatky, materiály a metody byly v průběhu řešení získány pro všechny plánované cíle. Etapa 01 se zabývala testováním a výběrem potencionálních donorů hospodářsky cenných vlastností a znaků u vybraných obilnin (ozimé formy pšenice, ječmene a tritikale), plodin využitelných jako meziplodiny, alternativních plodin a vybraných zelenin a farmaceuticky využitelných rostlin. Řešení etapy 02 se sousstředilo na vývoj a využití metod konzervace a charakterizace genofondu zemědělských plodin. Charakterizace a vývoj nových genotypů kulturních rostlin pomocí molekulárních a biochemických technik bylo předmětem řešení etapy 03 a využití chromosomových, buněčných a molekulárních technik k poznání účinků významných genů, tvorbě zdrojů a specifických materiálů pro genetické zlepšování zemědělských plodin etapy 04.
