Annotation I: Evaluation of sensitivity and specificity of PET/CT in the preoperative and postoperative diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Annotation II: Effect on the indications for surgery using preoperative staging by PET/CT, assessment of economic benefits by reducing the number of non-indicated operations. Annotation III: Comparison of the current staging using PET/CT as the sole test for pancreatic cancer. Annotation IV: Assessment of ultrastructual mitochondrial changes of the tumour cells in relation to hypoxia, which could be important for predicting the sensitivity of these cells (pancreatic adenocarcinoma) to treatment. Anotace I: Zhodnocení sensitivity a specificity PET/CT v předoperační a pooperační diagnostice karcinomu pankreatu.
The aim of the project was to asses sensitivity and specificity of PET/CT scan in the preoperative staging of pancreatic cancer. The study cohort consisted of 69 operated patients. Experimental part of the project focused on mitochondrial ultrastructure. (en)
(cs)
