| Description
| - The project deals with disturbances of pulmonary circulation in portal hypertension. It explores prevalence of hepatopulmonary syndrome and portopulmonary hypertension, their features and extent and relation to portal hypertension and liver disease. Further it explores pathogenetic role of selected mediators in different compartments of circulation, verifies sensitivity & specificity of noninvasive diagnostic approaches and impact of TIPS on further development of the disorder. Another explored topic is prediction of impact of TIPS on liver microcirculation and further fate of the patient using scintigraphy of liver perfusion, the potential of which have revealed previous studies. The third part of the project is exploration of metabolism of glucose, selected aminoacids and lipoproteins in portal hypertension using specimens from portal circulation, and of nutritional status in connection with TIPS. - Projekt řeší problematiku poruch plicní cirkulace při portální hypertenzi. Zkoumá prevalenci hepatopulmonálního syndromu a portopulmonální hypertenze, charakter a rozsah poruchy a její souvislost s parametry portální hypertenze a jaterního onemocnění. Dále zkoumá patogenetický význam hladin vybraných mediátorů v různých odddílech krevního oběhu, ověřuje citlivost a specificitu neinvazivních diagnostických postupů a zkoumá dopad miniinvazivního portosystémového zkratu (TIPS) na další vývoj poruchy. Další řešenou problematikou je predikce dopadu TIPS na jaterní mikrocirkulaci a další osud nemocného pomocí scintigrafie jaterní perfúze, jejíž možnost naznačily předchozí studie. Třetí oblastí projektu je výzkum metabolismu glukózy, vybraných aminokyselin a lipoproteinů při portální hypertenzi s pomocí katetrizačních odběrů z portálního řečiště a vývoje stavu výživy v souvislosti s TIPS.
