The project is focused on the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune reaction after xenotransplantation and on comparison of the response to allo- and xenoantigens. Emphasis will be paied to the role of macrophages and other cell populations during rejection of xenografts and to exploration of the functional role of cytokines and other immunoregulatory molecules after xenotransplantation. Aimed interventions into immunoregulatory mechanisms will be made with the goal to obtain prolonged or even permanent survival of corneal xenografts. (en)
Na základě získaných poznatků budou prováděny cílené zásahy do imunoregulačních mechanismů s cílem dosáhnout prodlouženého až permanentního přežívání ortotopických xenotransplantátů rohovky.
Rejection after allogenic and xenogenic transplantation is mediated by antibodies and Thl lymphocytes. Important role is played by nitric oxide produced by macrophages. Allograft rejection can be postponed by anti-OD4,but not anti-OD8 antibodies. (en)
Významnou roli hraje NO produkovaný makrofágy. Rejekci lze oddálit podáním anti-OD4, ne anti-OD8 monoklonálních protilátek (cs)
