Description	Res. centre will arise from existing collaboration among Charles Univ. Fac. of Pharmacy, Léčiva Inc. and GeneriBiotech Ltd. Its activities will be focused on the rational design of potential drugs, their synthesis, evaluation of their biol. activities.The centre will include chemists, biologics, technologics. Its goal will be complex research and development of pharmacodynam. activ. compounds: struct. anal., molecular modelling, synthesis, biol. evaluation. Further studies will concern metabolic transformations, transport mech., binding to biomol., pharmacokinetics and finally development of optimal dosage form. Starting project will be comprehensive study of original lead structure of antiastmatic drugs.Research will also be directed towards compounds which would find use in geriatrics and towad substances based on modified DNA used in gene therapy. Centre will also be focused on education of young research workers (PhD and pregradual students). (en) Centrum bude vytvořeno na základě existující výzkumné spolupráce UK FaF, Léčiva a.s. a fy GeneriBiotech s.r.o. Činnost bude soustředěna na racionální metody vyhledávání potenciál. léčiv, jejich syntézu, izolaci a studium biol. vlastností.Centrum začlení výzkumné pracovníky z chemických, biologických a technol. oborů. Záměrem bude cílený komplexní výzkum a vývoj farmakodynamicky účinných látek: od strukturní analýzy a molekulového modelování, k syntéze sloučenin a biol. hodnocení.Pokračuje studiemi biotransformací, vazbou na proteiny, transport. mechanismy, farmakokinetiky až k výzkumu lékových forem. Výchozím projektem bude studium orig. struktur ze skup. antiastmatik s protizánětlivým mech. účinku.Postupně bude rozšířeno do příbuzných terapeutických kategorií, sloučenin využívaných v geriatrii (přírodní léčiva) a prostředků genové terapie na bázi modifikace DNA. Bude soustředěno na výchovu mladých vědeckých pracovníků (akred. obory ).
