Description	Proposed project is a part of international comparative research project that concetrates on the study of social-spatial changes in metropolitan areas and their influence on political behavior. The research will test three hypotheses: 1. increasing spatial segregation of different social groups within metropolitan areas increasingly influence the political behavior of the population, 2. the political participation of the population living in suburbs tend to decrease, 3. Prague metropolitan area is increasingly different from the other metropolitan areas in the Czech Republic due to its greater exposure to the influence of globalization. Methodologically, project will be based on geographical and statistical analysis of aggregate data describing the social structures and political behavior. The units of observation will be municipalities in the suburban zones and boroughs in the core cities. Analyses of aggregate data will be supplemented by case studies in selected localities. (en) Navržený projekt je součást mezinárodního komparativního výzkumného projektu, který se soustřeďuje na studium sociálně-prostorových změn, k nimž dochází v metropolitních oblastech, a jejich vlivu na změny politického chování. Výzkum bude testovat hypotézy o rostoucí prostorové segregaci sociálních skupin v metropolitních oblastech a jejím vzrůstajícím vlivu na politické chování obyvatel, klesající politické aktivitě obyvatel příměstských residenčních oblastí a rostoucí odlišnosti pražské metropolitní oblasti od ostatních metropolititních oblastí v České republice v důsledku většího vystavení globalizačním vlivům. Metodologicky bude projekt založen na geografické a statistické analýze agregátních dat charakterizujících sociální strukturu a politické chování obyvatel. Jednotkou sledování budou individuální obce v zázemí měst a městské části, resp. čtvrti v případě jádrových měst. Agregátní analýzy budou doplněny případovými studiemi ve vybraných lokalitách.
