| Description
| - The project focuses on the culture, media and cultural codes of the long 15th century. It investigates the coding by language or visual means and through symbolic conduct, comprehensible only with reference to cultural and social context of the period. For this purpose, it combines the approaches to culture from the perspectives of the fields of linguistics, literary studies, history and history of art. The common denominator of the project consists in uncovering the cultural contents inherited from the previous development on the one hand and the search for innovations and advancement in the area of semantics as well as social patterns and gestures on the other hand. The aim of the project is to connect the two main levels of basic research in the fields of humanities dealing with the past: the editorial treatment of the sources and their interpretation. Its outcome will be a series of source editions and secondary works dealing with the society and culture of the Hussite period in the whole breadth of their confessional and power-political manifestations. - Projekt se zaměřuje na kulturu, média a kulturní kódy dlouhého 15. století. Zkoumá kódování kulturních obsahů v pramenech prostředky jazykovými nebo vizuálními a prostřednictvím symbolického jednání, srozumitelné jen s odkazem k dobovým kulturním a společenským souvislostem. Za tímto účelem kombinuje přístupy ke kultuře z hlediska jazykovědných, literárněvědných, uměnovědných a historických oborů. Společným jmenovatelem projektu je odkrývání kulturních obsahů zděděných z předchozího vývoje na jedné straně a hledání inovací a posunů v oblasti sémantiky jazyka i sociálních vzorců a gest na straně druhé. Cílem projektu je propojit dvě hlavní roviny základního výzkumu v humanitních oborech zabývajících se minulostí: ediční zpracování pramenů a jejich interpretaci. Jeho výsledkem bude soubor pramenných edic a sekundárních studií o společnosti a kultuře husitské epochy v celé šíři jejích konfesních a mocensko-politických projevů.
