Description
| - Fishes of the families Cobitidae and Balitoridae form one of the most diverse groups of freshwater fishes in Eurasia and have been used as examples in biogeography. Additionally, polyploidisation events occurred índependently on the levels of species, genera and subfamilies, making loaches an ideál model to study the role of polyploidisation in evolution and radiation. However, basing on characters of morphology there is no agreement about number and outline of families, genera and species groups or the relations among them, which hampers the efficient use of this amazing animal model. In the present project, molecular genetic data will be ušed to analyse the phylogenetic relationships among loach fishes. Basing on the results, the families, genera and species groups can be inferred. In the second step, cytogenetic data will be used to interpret the impact of polyploidisation and other cytogenetic changes on the definition and evolution of phylogenetic lineages within the groups. - Čeledi sekavcovitých (Cobitidae) a mřenkovitých (Balitoridae) představují jedny z nejrozmanitějších skupin eurasijských sladkovodních druhů ryb. V předkládaném projektu budou k vyjasnění fylogenetických vztahů v rámci skupiny Cobitoidea a pro identifikaci jednotlivých čeledí, rodů i druhů využity molekulárně genetické znaky. Kombinace
