| - We plan to study stochastic properties of time series stemming from the field of environmetrics, climatology and economy. The goal is to investigate their stationarity, which is important for verification of the hypothesis whether human activities influence the nature. Stochastic models and decision procedures for detection of nonhomogeneities in time series will be suggested, their properties studied and criteria for verifying their appropriateness (goodness-of-fit type tests) developed. We will focus on asymptotic behavior of the suggested procedures (tests and estimators) and the properties of their resampling versions (bootstrap and permutations). Efficient numerical algorithms appropriate for the suggested methods will be proposed and implemented on computers. The suggested procedures will be applied to both real and simulated data. (en)
- Plánujeme studovat stochastické vlastnosti časových řad pocházejících z oblasti životního prostředí, klimatologie a ekonomie. Cílem je zkoumat jejich stacionaritu, jež je důležitá k posouzení vlivu člověka na životní prostředí. Budou navrženy stochastické modely a rozhodovací postupy pro detekci nehomogenit v časových řadách, studovány jejich vlastnosti a ověřována jejich vhodnost pro zkoumané problémy. Soustředíme se jak na asymptotické chování navrhovaných postupů, tak na vlastnosti jejich počítačově intenzivních verzí (bootstrap a permutační metody). Dále se budeme zabývat návrhem eficientních numerických algortimů a jejich počítačovou implementací. Navržené postupy budou aplikovány na reálná a simulovaná data.

| - Řešení je přínosem pro výzkum chování složitých stochastických systémů. Údaje řešitele v závěrečné kartě jsou adekvátní. Projekt má nezpochybnitelný význam pro řadu aplikací, to dokumentují publikované práce, tak i při výchově studentů, o čemž svědčí obhájené doktorské práce. Výstupy grantu jsou doloženy množstvím publikací i prezentací. Nedostatky v dodržování grantových pravidel nebyly shledány. (cs)
- The results obtained within the project appear to be significant for the field of stochastic complex systems. The applications are obvious from the papers published and participation of the students on the project is documented by the number of successfully defended PhD theses No formal problems in following the grant agency rules were found.
