Description
  • The growing characteristic as a grafting succeed (the survival percentage), one year old grafted plants height, one year old shoots diameter and rootstock frost killing tendency have been evaluated during this experiment. Ten plants per each rootstock-pear cultivar combination in three replications (30 plants in total) have started to be cultivated and observed in 2001 and 2002 as well. A bad affinity of quince rootstocks with ´Boscova´ pear as well as a good affinity with ´Konference´ pear has been proved true according to the literature data. After two experiment replications it is concluded that the best affinity of new pear cultivars with quince rootstocks has been proved with ´Bohemica´, ´Dicolor´, ´Vonka´, ´Jizera´ and ´Morava´ cultivars.
