  • A porcine melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R) variant (Asp298Asn) on pig chromosome 1 is considered to be economically important. There were analysed the association of this MC4R polymorphism with back fat and proportion of lean meat. The oedema disease and post-weaning diarrhoea in 4-12 weeks old pigs is associated with the colonization of the small intestine by toxigenic Escherichia coli strain with fimbriae F18. The FUT1 gene has been determined as a marker gene for E. coli F18 receptor locus. The M307 polymorphism of the FUT1 gene influences susceptibility to adhesion of E. coli F18 to intestinal mucosa and an outbreak of illness. We analysed the association of FUT1 gene with death loss of piglet. There were analysed 73 sows of Czech Large White (CLW) breed with benefit litter size. Samples of blood of pigs were analysed by PCR - RFLP methods. Frequences of genotypes of marker MC4R were: AA 0,44; AB 0,52; BB 0,04. Average height of back fat was: AA 9,08 mm; AB 8,01 mm.   • Varianta prasečího melanocortinového 4 receptoru (MC4R) (Asp298Asn) na 1. prasečím chromozomu je považována za ekonomicky významnou. Byly analyzovány asociace mezi tímto polymorfismem MC4R, hřbetním tukem a podílem libového masa. Nemoci jako edém a průjem, vyskytující se u 4-12 týdnů starých prasat, jsou spojovány s kolonizací tenkého střeva toxigenní Escherichií coli kmen F18. Gen FUT1 byl určen jako markerový gen pro receptor lokusu E.coli F18. Polymorfní varianta M307 genu FUT1 ovlivňuje náchylnost k přilnutí E.coli F18 ke střevní sliznici a následnému propuknutí nemoci. Analyzovali jsme asociaci genu FUT1 s úmrtností selat. Bylo analyzováno 73 prasnic plemene ČBU s početnými vrhy. Vzorky krve prasat byly analyzovány metodou PCR-RFLP. Frekvence genotypů markeru MR4C byly: AA 0,44, AB 0,52 a BB 0,04. Průměrná výška hřbetního tuku (mm) byla: AA 9,08 a AB 8,01. Průměrný podíl libového masa (%) byl: AA 60,94, AB 61,88 a BB 61,27.
