Description
  • The thermal conditions in the deep geological spent nuclear fuel repository have important role in the planning of the dimensions and used materials. The heat conduction problem is very difficult for simulation because of very large structure with many details and limited possibilities for symmetries or dimensional reduction. In the paper, we present numerical simulations for two possible model simplification – a single-canister case (study case for e.g. sensitivity analyses) and a single segment of the periodic model with infinite number of canisters (realistic in the local scale). We show the effect of the mutual heating of canisters in the periodic model in contrast to the single-canister model leading to a large temperature rise. Next in the parametric study, we compare several variants with different geometry and spent fuel heat generation, and the results in the literature.

  • Práce vyhodnocuje rozsah použitelnosti různě zjednodušených variant numerické simulace tepelného zatížení horniny a inženýrských bariér hlubinného úložiště vyhořelého jaderného paliva. Standardně jsou numerické simulace omezeny počtem neznámých a pro velká geometricky složitá úloha nemusí být v přímo řešitelná. Porozumění vlastnostem úlohy a nalezení symetrií umožní úlohu řešit mnohem efektivněji, příklady takových variant jsou v práci prezentovány. (cs)
