  • Newly bred Czech pear cultivars (14 cultivars) were tested for resistance to fire blight. Tests were carried out in research station of RICP in Slany. Tested cultivars were grown in technical isolation. Artificial inoculations were carried out in the period of strong extending growth. Inoculations were done by decapitation of shoot tips by scissors dipped in the bacterial suspension (concentration 106 cfu). The bacterial suspension was composed of 5 virulent strains of Erwinia amylowora. Virulence of pathogen was verified by testing on forced shoots of Pyrus ussuriensis. The level of resistance was determined by percentage share of bacterial lesions to total length of shoots (in cm) after 40 days. We used adjusted USDA scale for evaluation. Tests proved high resistance to fire blight in cultivar ´Bohemica´ (higher than in ´Lucasova´). This resistance was comparable to newly bred US-625-63-4.On the other hand, cultivars ´Laura´, ´Vonka´, ´Beta´, ´Decora´ and ´Petra´ showed strong symptoms of infection.

  • Nově vyšlechtěné české odrůdy hrušní (14 odrůd) byly testovány na odolnost vůči bakteriální spále. Testy se uskutečnily na výzkumném pracovišti VÚRV ve Slaném. Testované odrůdy byly pěstovány v technickém izolátu. Umělá inokulace byla provedena v období intenzivního prodlužovacího růstu výhonů dekapitací růstového vrcholu nůžkami namočenými v bakteriální suspenzi o koncentraci 106 cfu. Bakteriální suspenze se skládala z pěti virulentních kmenů bakterie Erwinia amylovora. Virulence patogena byla prověřena testem na přirychlených výhonech hrušně Pyrus ussuriensis. Po 40 dnech od inokulace byla stanovena hladina rezistence % bakteriální léze k celkové délce výhonu v cm. Pro hodnocení byla použita upravená stupnice USDA. Testy prokázaly vysokou odolnost vůči spále růžovitých vyšší než odrůda Lucasova u odrůdy Bohemica na podnoži srovnatelnou s novošlechtěním US-625-63-4. Naproti tomu silné příznaky napadení touto chorobou vykazovaly odrůdy Laura, Vonka, Beta, Decora a Petra. (cs)
