(cs)
Goal of the proposed project is to provide a continuous support for the activities of the Czech group in the STAR experiment at Brookhaven National Laboratory, U.S.A. Experiment STAR studies proton-proton collisions and properties of nuclear matter under conditions of extreme temperatures and energy densities in heavy-ion collisions at energies up to 200 GeV per nucleon-nucleon pair at center of mass. Experimental programme at RHIC confirmed existence of a new state of nuclear matter with properties close to those of ideal liquid. The purpose of this project is a detailed study of properties of this new state of nuclear matter using hard probes: particles with large transverse momentum, jets, and heavy flavour. Another focus of the project is an upgrade of the STAR experiment by a new detector HFT (Heavy Flavor Tracker). Development of tools for optimization of data transfer and their distributed management is also proposed. (en)
